Julia Kissina
Schatten werfen Menschen, photography, Piezo-pigment-print, doll: 28,5 × 41,5 cm, centauros 19 × 26,5 cm, 2008–2009

Julia Kissina takes a piece of her Berlin world to Tirana: »The modern man, nomad or snail, takes his house with him. My Berlin Wall is no piece of art. It is only my kitchen wall from home which I transferred to Tirana to feel more at home here.« On this wall you find advertisements, notes, posters and some images from Julia Kissina’s photo series Shadows. The photographs have been taken on a sunny day, cause and effect have changed their places: shadows throw people. With a shortening caused by extreme perspective, people turn to minor matters while the shadows become main actors that develop a surprisingly independent existence.
